Space!

That’s it alright. For an empty existential absence, we sure expect a lot from space. ..I would list some of these expectations, but we know all of them from our human core.

Above all else, high in those heavens, we seek connection. It may take the form of a energy bullet connecting with our shoulder, or a quiet moment of cosmic harmony, but it's all just our social biology yearning to see itself reflected.

We continue to humanize the unknown, no matter how illogical or (biologically?) inaccurate it may be. Considering what we don't know, it's really odd that speculative space critters are intrinsically humanoid or human-like in nature. It may as well be like we're just using aliens as a shorthand for people.

So, anyways, welcome to my blog! For good ol escapism i've always wished alien societies were kinder than our own. Clearly this won't have any emotional baggage. The droning familiarity of space stories always bothered me, so at last, here's my platform to complain! And none of you hypothetical readers can stop me! I'd suggest you duck and cover.

Like any regular blog, I'll emerge from your blackened inhuman screen and from the nothingness create stuff you frankly wish was still nothing. I'll go over the history of aliens in media, and try to figure out what is being said through these depictions. For example, look at this blog I came across on the interwebs!

https://alien-alibi.neocities.org/.

Bleh. Someone teach this looser how to get a brain. Or coherency, mind you matter of fact. This page appears to be some sort of cultish ploy to sympathize with aliens, just in case they happen to be reading my blog. The anonymous author is desperately trying to point out the flaws of humanity, to separate themself from it.

I can't fault the perspective(in fact the author is very cool and i think we should all favorite this page(heres a guide just in case my ego is too brilliant for your burnt husk of a brain to retain basic internet motor functions))...but I have the strange feeling that it may be too perfect to judge. Maybe it just needs 2 or so more graphics?

(click images for the source) On that topic, all mediums are fair game here. I may try to avoid basic textual descriptions, since interpretation practically throws the authorial intent out of the equation. As well, the historical and logistical space stuff is a bit out of my orbit. Not to say i'm not kinda versed in the topic,(my science projects got accolades from MIT, the US Navy, and IEEE!) but any knowledge i've had has definitely faded. Sorry, genuine brag there. Speculate and conspiratorially theorize all you wish, i'm just here to judge how others portray it all.

Hell, send your theories in and maybe i'll judge's it's alien authenticity! It's my treat! And your loss when i convince the 8th dimensional space god that everyone's ego is grounds for global annihilation. Of course not for me cause im special. :D

Anywho, i'm gonna hunker down for the inevitable end. See you then! (512 words)
